Emergency Department

The Emergency Department of Good Hope Hospital offers medical care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is staffed with highly qualified, experienced emergency medicine physicians and nurses that can handle many types of emergencies and illnesses.

For patients that need more specialized care, GHH has partnered with UNC Health Care System to make UNC's critical care transport services available to all of our patients that need to be transported to hospitals such as UNC, Duke, Rex and WakeMed.

Upon your arrival to the Emergency Department, you will be met by a Registered Nurse (Triage Nurse) who will conduct a brief assessment to determine the type of treatment you will require. After this initial assessment, registration will be completed. You will then receive further nursing assessment and medical care by a physician. Laboratory testing, X-rays, or other procedures may increase your time in the Emergency Department.

The desire of the Emergency Department Staff and Good Hope Hospital is to offer quality care in an efficient and caring manner. If you have concerns, comments or compliments, we would like to hear from you. You may contact the Administration office at 910-897-6151 extension 150, or contact any of the following people:
