Physical Rehabilitation Services

Good Hope Hospital offers a comprehensive physical rehabilitation program for people who have health problems resulting from injuries or have muscular skeletal, neurological or arthritic disorders. Physical therapy is vital for patients who have had surgery, joint replacement surgery, amputations or a stroke to help them get back on their feet and restore the use of muscles.

Physical therapists visit patients in hospital rooms and begin the process of recovery, making patients stronger, relieving their pain and helping them regain use of an affected limb or relearn activities of daily living such as walking. Services offered include:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Wound Care
  • Home Exercise Design and Instruction
  • Incontinence Program
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Aquatic Therapy

Good Hope Hospital's Aquatic Therapy program provides individualized treatment in an environment where exercises are designed to assist the patient in developing an in-depth kinesthetic awareness of the neutral spine position and the ability to maintain that position in any posture or activity. It also uses water as a modality providing a buoyant, hydrostatic and viscous environment where exercises can be done for various diagnoses such as: arthritis, post total joint surgery, fibromyalgia, neurological disorders.
